FREDDY ROMERO

I have always been an active individual. Since I was young I would skateboard and play soccer and basketball in my free time. I was born in Torrance and grew up in Camarillo. Eventually I attended Oxnard College, then transferred to California State University, Sacramento. There I joined the rowing team and rowed for the two years I was attending school in Sacramento. Rowing allowed me to build endurance, strength and eventually a passion for running.

Long distance running became an even bigger part of my life when I was able to run my first marathon for my sister who had Lymphoma. Although running my first marathon was challenging, it was even more rewarding because I was able to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Since my first marathon, I've completed four marathons and seven half marathons and don't plan on stopping any time soon. Even though running is a big part of my life, I also have a passion for hiking, skateboarding and photography. Some of my future goals are to qualify for the Boston Marathon and eventually completing a full Iron Man race.

The Gamut lifestyle stands for everything I believe in. Gamut means having a positive outlook on life, constantly staying active, helping others and being happy with whom you are. I am Gamut.
